A workshop that sells cars.
A workshop that happens to sell cars. Two ramps, a short stock list, and no interest in shifting something that is not ready.
How it started
IRONWHEELMOTORS started on the tools. Servicing and repair came first, and selling cars came out of it — because after enough years under other people's cars you learn very quickly which ones are worth putting your name to.
That is still how it works. Every car we sell comes through our own bays first. If it needs brakes it gets brakes. If it needs a cambelt it gets a cambelt. If it needs too much, we do not buy it.
We are not chasing volume and we do not have a sales floor. What we have is a short list of cars we would be happy to hand to a friend, described exactly as they are.

Before it is listed
What we do to every car.
- HPI check for money owed, write-off markers and mileage discrepancies
- Full mechanical inspection on our own ramps
- Brakes, tyres and fluids replaced where needed, not nursed through
- Fresh MOT arranged so you start with a full twelve months
- Cambelt and service history checked against the schedule
- Photographed as it stands, marks included
Anything we find and do not put right goes into the description. And if a car needs more than it is worth, we do not buy it in the first place.
